I moved to Guanajuato, Mexico about three years ago...and am still growing in appreciation each day for this beautiful, historic city. Nestled in the central highlands of Mexico, surrounded by high altitude desert and rich in culture, it has become my new home base. The colors of the buildings here are a vivid rainbow of colirs...and the people so kind and very caring. Inspiration surrounds me!
For twenty years I called Hawaii my home… and delighted in painting rural Hawaii land and seascapes. This body of work of plain air oil paintings on canvas is in a loose, expressionistic style…with saturated, vivid colors; dramatic views; and unusual juxtapositions…designed to simplify …and engage the viewer in direct appreciation of the magical beauty of the islands.
After twenty years of living in Hawaii, I've moved off the island… and am now making my home, and a new body of work, in Guanajuato, Mexico.
